2.4 Planning for Vegas

Woww. I just gave myself such a headache doing vegas research.

Wow.

But…. Vegassss!!!!!!

I went once before and it was a blast but I think --- like every $65 dollar steak in the town--- it only gets better with age…

The first time you go you’re overwhelmed with the glitz and glam and options that its just a tornado of information and endless buffet lines and cigarette smoke circling around you.

Then you leave. 10lbs heavier, wallet considerably lighter and somehow you’re happy.

Its my second time around. The first was actually awesome—I went out to meet up with Olivia, who was out there for some weird math people conference. Geo and I got there before her so we went to magic shows, hypnotist, buffet, and tons of gambling.

I am a huge proponent of the penny slots. Particularly the fish game, the wizard of oz (more-so in AC than vegas) and willy wonka. Table games are also a ton of fun. Craps seems to be the most lively, with the throwing of the dice and all. Blackjack can be really fun with the right group (and a low table minimum--$3 at golden nugget. Cant wait to go back!). As long as no-one’s too serious about it then you’re in good shape.

So vegas is happening for Halloween and I for one am totally stoked. Andddddd my parents are coming to visit us! Its gonna be really nice, I am so excited to show them around town—hence the headache from the research because I want everything to be just right. And there is just tooooo much there. But George and I have been working on it and we’re settling on a nice schedule for the long weekend. Woop!

Vegas 2014:

Hotel: Aria ---amazing

Casinos: Aria- good, Cosmopolitan Bar- TOP NOTCH, Casino Royale- BARF, Golden Nugget- Awesome, Venetian- decent I don’t remember too many others

Buffet: Wicked Spoon—very trendy kinds of food. Good but wanna try bacchanal this year

Shows- some hypnotist (forgot his name)- awesome, Magician: Jan Rouven- Amazing! Small intimate venue and I went on stage

Restaurants: Russian in Mandalay bay: so good. Sage in aria- over rated
