I'm "only" about a month behind in my writing and I have myself convinced i can cover most of it in the next 4 hours of driving.
I'm going to be brief about Spokane.
we had to get something done to the RV so we stayed in a hotel in the middle of the city.
now if anyone from Washington is reading this (particularly Spokane) I'm sorry for offending you.
Spokane is WEIRD. and also the whitest place I've ever been.
I'm not sure if I don't completely indenting with the "basic" white people because my family is made up of European immigrant or what. but this place was so white it was Erie.
I swore that every other person was about to stab me. George of course thought I was nuts... which was probably true.
that's not to say I didn't have a nice time. we handled some domestic stuff-- laundry. which by the way was the best laundry service I'd ever had done. they made all my clothes look brand new. I'd take the imminent threat of a stabbing for perfectly laundered clothes anyday.
that night we did the whitest thing possible-- we went to this event called Terrain. it was a gallery showcasing tons of artists work, all for sale, with live music (grunge of course) and a bar. there was some amazing art. it was PACKED, with mostly college aged kids fully donned in the latest forever 21 trends. ok I'm a judgey bitch. I know.
we left after looking around-- took a walk to the river where they had the chinese lantern festival. that was super cool.
overall-- Spokane, interesting white people vibe..
would I go back? maybe. I can't say I wouldn't. there was something oddly inticing about how uncomfortable it made me.
